Protect PDF encrypts a new copy of your document with the password you enter. The current permission profile allows high-resolution printing, form filling, and accessibility while requesting that readers block content copying, editing, annotation, and document assembly.
What password protection does
The password is required to open the protected copy. KissPDF uses the same supplied value for the user and owner password in the current implementation, then saves a separately encrypted PDF.
